A combination of uncertain economic times and the recent flu scare has meant that now is a perfect time to catch some of the best vacation deals around, with plenty of cheap flights to Latin America currently available.
For those coming from North America, LAN (www.lan.com) is offering some great ticket deals including an unbeatable Miami to Lima round trip for $298, a New York to Buenos Aires round trip for just $678 and a Los Angeles to Lima round trip for $460.
LAN also offers a number of flight deals on internal and continental flights throughout South America, making a multi-country trip even more attractive.
Meanwhile, Continental Airlines (www.continental.com) is offering some even better value ticket deals on flights from the United States to various exciting South America vacation destinations. Look no further for a one-way bargain from New York to Rio de Janeiro for $290 or from New York to Sao Paulo, also for $290.
For those coming from Europe, the Dutch carrier KLM (www.klm.com) is offering a great value London to Lima flight from £480 and London to Quito from £568. The capital city of Ecuador, Quito is the starting point for trips to the world’s most famous biodiversity hotspot, the Galapagos Islands.
Cheap flights to South America
Some general advice for finding the best ticket deals and cheap flights on the net:
Avoid the holiday seasons: Wherever possible, aim to book your flights outside the major holiday times when prices will rocket and deals will be few and far between.
Plan ahead: If you have no choice but to travel during the holiday periods, make sure you plan your vacation well in advance and book your flights before the seats start to fill up. Prices will only continue to rise and there won’t be any last minute bargains!
Be flexible: Consider taking flights outside of the most popular times; the weekends, Fridays and Mondays are often the most expensive days to fly, while the first and last flights of the day are often in less demand than daytime flights.
Compare carefully: Flight comparison websites abound and you risk getting bogged down in a mire of websites. If you already know your destination, it might be easier to look up a list of airlines at your airport and check their websites directly.
