Robert and Family at Machu Picchu Dear JP,

We just got back from a trip of a lifetime to Peru that we booked with your company. From the minute we got off the plane until we got back on a plane to go home again almost three weeks later, we were impressed daily at the attitude and work ethic of the Peru for Less staff.

Free trade agreement between Peru and the US now a reality

Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade, Mercedes Aráoz, has announced that the recently-signed free trade pact between Peru and the US would come into effect as early as January 2009. She has faced down the skeptics by insisting the agreement will be a total success.

After much heated controversy and skepticism, the free trade agreement between Peru and the U.S is to finally start as early as January 2009. Peruvian Minister of Foreign trade, Mercedes Aráoz, stated that it would take a natural span of at least eight months to effectively execute the newly accorded pact in the country.

When asked by the Press why it would take at least 8 months to implement the details of the agreement throughout the country, the Minister explained that a lot of work with the US government remained to be done before setting things in motion. Aráoz was steadfast in addressing the concerns of the skeptics, claiming that the signing of the agreement represented an important advance in Peru’s developmental agenda, and reminded the audience of the manifold opportunities it would bring to the national market.

Mercedes Aráoz
Minister Aráoz seemed optimistic that in the long run results will silence the doubters.

To those suspicious of the impact of the agreement on national industry, she underlined that the pact was signed in favor of the Peruvian people, and for no other reason. With optimism, Aráoz acknowledged those responsible for the work done in the process of drawing up the agreement, and assured the audience that results will silence critics and prove to be a glowing success for the present government.
