Peru For Less did an outstanding job arranging an itinerary that accommodated my last minute requests and the fact I was traveling alone.
Argentinean Wine gains French backing
One of Argentina’s most distinguished wines, the Malbec has caught the attention of the French. This month a joint venture between Argentina and Cahors, a town in the southwest of France, was announced to promote and develop the reputation of the Malbec grape. In April a symposium will be held in Cahors with wine producers from both Cahors and Argentine to inaugurate the joint venture.

France together with Argentina produces 77% of the world’s supply of Malbec.
Brought from Hungary to France, the black Malbec grape generally failed as a wine produce owing to the unfavorable weather conditions. But when the grapes were introduced to Argentina, a flavorful and aromatic wine emerged thanks to the temperate climate here. Meanwhile, in France, the Malbec is one of the six grapes used for blending into Bordeaux wine.
Grown in the temperate, sunlit and virtually pollution free province of Mendoza, the Malbec sets the standard for other Argentine wines. Its plum and licorice undertones, deep, peppery tones make it a versatile and elegant wine that easily compliments any meal. For wine connoisseurs and for those who just want to enjoy the natural beauty of Argentina while tasting some of the finest wines in the world we offer the Special Wine Country: Mendoza 5 days/4 nights Package, that takes you to the city of Mendoza and the surrounding wine country where the world famous Malbec is produced.
