Magellanic Penguin makes incredible journey to Paracas
A Magellanic Penguin was found along the Peruvian coast in the Paracas National Reserve by a fisherman. In a virtually unheard of feat, the bird traveled more than 3000 miles from its home in the Straight of Magellan. Its future now is in the hands of Peruvian scientists and officials.

FIFA bans high-altitude international soccer matches
FIFA has banned international soccer games from being played at more than 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) above sea level. The counties most affected will be Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia; as a result these countries threaten to withdraw from the qualifiers to the World Cup. FIFA’s ban has crossed into the political arena and even Peru’s President has expressed outrage.

Illegal feline and monkey skulls seized at Lima airport
Peruvian Customs agents routinely seize items ranging from contraband to cocaine. However, they were surprised when they found something a little out of the ordinary at a warehouse in Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport. They found 11 feline and monkey skulls inside a package headed to Miami, Florida.
