Day 1 : Arrival to Iquitos & Cruise Launch

- Upon arrival to Iquitos, you will be met at the airport by a Peru For Less representative and taken to your comfortable cruise ship, the Arapaima. After settling into your cabin, the ship will start sailing along the majestic Amazon River while you receive an orientation and security briefing from the ship’s crew and naturalist guides.
- Admire your wonderful surroundings as you enjoy a delicious lunch before setting off on your first land excursion. In the afternoon, you will visit a local sugarcane factory, known as “cachaza”.
- As the sun sets, you will board a motor canoe and sail downstream to the mouth of the Napo River to see if you can spot exotic wildlife. You’re likely to see herons, the famous and endangered pink river dolphin, and many other bird species.
- You will then return to your boat in the evening to enjoy dinner and a quiet evening.
Day 2 : Palometa & Pebas

- When you wake up, your vessel will already be tied up at the mouth of the Palometa creek near the village of Pebas, your destination for the day. You will begin the day with a bird-watching excursion, traveling by canoe to a nearby black water lake where your naturalist guide will point out exotic wildlife.
- After breakfast, you will visit the small Bora or Wuitoto native community where you will have a chance to observe and learn about their way of life and traditions.
- After lunch back on the Arapaima, you will disembark and walk along jungle trails to admire exotic wildlife from the boat’s deck. Keep an eye out for oriole blackbirds, yellow-headed caracaras, squirrel and capuchin monkeys, butterflies, and many more species.
- You will return to your vessel for dinner and set off on a night boat excursion to try to spot nocturnal wildlife and observe the sky crowded with stars.
Day 3 : Caballo Cocha

- Rise up at dawn for an early morning rainforest expedition along the banks of the Amazon River. You will then return to your ship to enjoy breakfast while you sail downstream and take in your beautiful surroundings. You will then visit a typical Amazon jungle village at Paranaquiro before rejoining the Arapaima, which will continue its journey down the river while you enjoy a delicious lunch.
- In the afternoon, you will arrive at the Caballo Cocha Lake and sail up the narrow channel. You’ll see countless exotic species, including pink and grey dolphins swimming in the black water. Later on, the ship will tie up at the Caballo Cocha village, where you’ll have the opportunity to go on a piranha fishing trip with your guide.
- After dinner back on the Arapaima, your guide will take you on a hike to look for alligators and other amazing wildlife. Return to the boat and enjoy a quiet evening aboard your ship.
Day 4 : Leticia & Tabatinga

- During the night, your vessel will continue its journey and you will wake up at Santa Rosa Island on the Amazon. Enjoy breakfast before boarding the motor canoe for the transfer to the tri-border cities of Leticia in Colombia and Tabatinga in Brazil. You will have time to discover the cities at a leisurely pace, shop for souvenirs, and relax, before returning to the boat.
- In the afternoon, you will start the journey back to Iquitos. If time permits, you may have the opportunity to stop at Micos Island on the Colombian side where you can spot many monkeys and giant plants. You will also stop by the Cayaru River to admire more exotic fauna.
- Enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening as your boat sails along the river.
Day 6 : Pebas

- Rise up at dawn for another exciting bird-watching expedition to a nearby black water lake. You will then return to your vessel for breakfast, before setting off for a visit to a Yagua native village.
- After lunch, you’ll enjoy another fishing trip on the Apayacu River, looking for black and red piranhas, as well as arawana, sardine, and zungaro catfish. Enjoy a magical sunset over the rainforest before returning for dinner and your last night aboard the Arapaima.
Day 7 : Return to Iquitos & Disembark

- Today you can sleep in and enjoy a relaxing breakfast before the ship reaches its destination, Iquitos, at mid-morning. You will disembark from the Arapaima and have some time to explore the laid-back jungle town before meeting your transfer to the airport for your journey home or on to your next destination.
