Day 1 : Arrival to Iquitos & Cruise Launch

- Upon arrival in Iquitos, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to Natau where the Delfin II awaits you. Once aboard, you will have time to settle in and rest before dinner which is served in the ship’s cozy dining room. Enjoy an exquisite culinary experience on the Delfin II which offers a delicious selection of Amazonian-Peruvian dishes.
- In the evening, you will receive a briefing outlining the details of the journey aboard the Delfin II as well as the history and geography of the Amazon Basin. The rest of the evening is free for you to get acclimatized, mingle with your fellow travelers while listening to live music performed by the boat staff, and enjoy your breathtaking surroundings.
Day 2 : Belluda Cano or Yanallpa & El Dorado River Tour

- Dawn and dusk are the ideal times for nature observation, so you will rise early and enjoy a filling breakfast before setting off on your first Amazon exploration. The activity that will be offered is dependent on the season.
- In the rainy season (December to May), you will head out on a Belluda Stream Tour aboard a skiff that will take you through the dark water stream to the spectacular Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the largest protected wetland reserve in the world. It is bursting at the seams with spectacular wildlife. From the skiff, you can easily spot parrots, macaws and monkeys, as well as various types of birds and butterflies.
- In the dry season (June to November), enjoy a visit to the Yanallpa community and explore the various ecosystems, such as the flooded forest and terra firme forest. Once you disembark at this native village, you will begin your hike through the forest where you will be able to observe the many wild species. After an hour, you will reach the beautiful secluded lagoon where canoes await you for a ride across the waters filled with exotic species. Hike back to the skiffs to continue your journey.
- After lunch back on the Delfin II, you will hop back on the skiffs for the ride to El Dorado River and one of the best observation spots in the reserve, where you can also enjoy the unique experience of watching and swimming among gray and pink river dolphins. Admire the myriad squirrel monkeys and iguanas laying in the sun, and many more animals.
- Head back to the Delfin II for an exquisite dinner and relaxing evening aboard. Look up at the sky where millions of stars and the moon put on the best show lighting up the entire river.
Day 3 : Rio Pacaya & Atun Poza Lake Tour

- Wake up at dawn and enjoy breakfast aboard the skiffs taking you to the Pacaya River, at the very heart of the reserve. Filled with lakes, palm swamps, and streams, the flooded forest is a truly magical sight during the rainy season.
- Admire the abundant wildlife which is most active at dawn and immerse yourself in the complete wilderness surrounding you. Look out for different species of monkeys, such as small families of red howler monkeys, the largest in the Amazon basin, with its bright rust-colored fur and long tail.
- Jump in the clear and warm water for a refreshing morning swim, before hopping on the skiffs for your journey back to the Delfin II where you will enjoy another exquisite lunch. An exciting expedition to the Atun Poza Lake awaits you in the afternoon. Depending on the season, you will enjoy one of two options.
- In the rainy season, you will ride a skiff along Lake Atun Poza where you will be able to surprise several species of egrets, herons, hawks, long-legged neo-tropical cormorants fishing for their dinner, and unusual and loud horned screamers. You will also have a chance to explore other black water lagoons linked to this gigantic lake, where wattled jacanas compete with a wide variety of spiders.
- In the dry season, you will take a hike through the pristine and unique ecosystem surrounding Lake Atun Poza, passing through classic tropical rainforest, one of the richest habitats on earth. Look for giant ceiba or kapok trees, enormous otters, and the wide variety of birds which call the rainforest home.
- Enjoy a relaxing dinner and evening aboard Delfin II, taking advantage of its luxurious amenities.
Day 4 : Lagoon and Jungle Hick Tour

- Wake up early and enjoy a generous breakfast before heading out for a new Amazonian adventure. Depending on the season, you will be taken on either of the following expeditions.
- In the rainy season, you will depart aboard the skiffs for a fishing adventure at Caro Curahuayte, a spectacular spot where you can expect to catch many piranhas. The rainy season is the perfect time to go as the forest is flooded and many fish swim among the floating tree trunks.
- In the dry season, you will head out on a shore-bird searching adventure. When the river is very low, broad white sandy beaches emerge, creating a special ecosystem that harbors sandpipers, terns that hover and dive to catch fish, black skimmers with their peculiar low flight over the water’s surface, egrets, jabirus, wood storks, and king fishers.
- After a delicious and satisfying lunch aboard the Delfin II, you will have the chance to visit the native riverside community of Yallpana, and meet some of the villagers to learn about their unique way of life.
- In the late afternoon, you will head back to the Delfin II where you can rest and enjoy a briefing by the professional naturalists on board, who will tell you all about the various species living in this region. As the ship starts sailing through the black streams, you will enjoy a delicious farewell dinner while the staff treats you to soothing live music.
Day 5 : Yarapa River & Departure from Iquitos

- For the last day of your exciting Amazon Cruise aboard the Delfin II, you will wake up early to enjoy breakfast before taking the skiffs to Puerto Miguel, a native village where you will have the chance to meet some of the locals, and learn about their culture, traditions and folklore.
- You will then explore the Yarapa River with its abundant wildlife, and reach the lovely Uvos Lagoon. Back to the vessel, enjoy a last gourmet lunch aboard and pack up your belongings before disembarking in Nauta where you will visit the local NGO, Minga Peru. You will then be transferred to the Iquitos airport for your flight to Lima.
