Day 1 : Arrival to Iquitos & Transfer to Ceiba Tops
- You will be met at the airport by a Peru For Less representative and then transferred to the river dock, where you’ll board a motor-boat for the 25-mile journey down the river to the Ceiba Tops Lodge.
- Once you are settled and rested, you’ll set off on your first jungle tour. Accompanied by your English-speaking naturalist guide, you’ll hike through the beautiful primary rainforest reserve surrounding the lodge.
- After dinner back at the lodge, you can enjoy a folkloric music show at the lodge’s bar while your guides recount the many legends of the Amazon.
Day 2 : Jungle Expedition & Overnight or Departure from Iquitos
- Rise at dawn for an early morning bird-watching boat ride, followed by dolphin observation. After breakfast, you will visit a Yagua community to learn about the Yagua culture, traditions and way of life.
- In the afternoon, you’ll go on a jungle hike to the neighboring town of Indiana, a former Franciscan mission settlement, which has grown into a large river community. The town boasts its own market, school, and even a small hospital.
Day 3 : Departure from Iquitos
- In the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to go on a last boat or hiking excursion through the jungle to observe the wildlife.
