Enjoy a unique experience in the Andean communities around Cusco during a home stay in the small town of Chinchero, nestled at 12,000 feet above sea level in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Here you’ll have the opportunity to interact with local people who have maintained traditonal customs dating to Inca times. On this tour, you will also visit wonderful archaeological sites scattered throughout the magnificent Vilcabamba range.

Day 1 : Arrival to Chinchero

• Your guide will meet you at your Cusco hotel and take you to Chinchero located about 40 minutes away. When you arrive, you will be greeted by the family that will host you for the next few days. You’ll have the remainder of the day to get acquainted with them as they introduce you to their unique way of life.

Day 2 - 3: Chinchero Cultural Experience

• During the next two days, your Quechua hosts will show you the way they live and you will have plenty of opportunities to help with household chores, learn how to cook Andean cuisine, and increase your Quechua vocabulary.
• Throughout your stay there will be various structured activities, such as meeting with shaman healers, weavers, and other members of the local community, and you’ll also visit some of the amazing ruins in the Sacred Valley.
• You’ll have the chance to enjoy the serenity of life in the mountains while learning about your host family’s past. In the evenings, you can sit by the fire drinking maté and swapping stories with your new Quechua family. In the fresh evening air of the Andes, you will witness a side of Peruvian culture that very few travelers experience.

Day 4 : Return to Cusco

• After a last breakfast with your host family, you will say goodbye to your new friends and take your transfer back to Cusco.
