On this Galapagos Islands tour you can snorkel in turquoise coves with giant tortoises, mingle with white-tipped reef sharks and manta rays, walk through lava tubes, hike amidst iguanas, and get up close and personal with sea lions, penguins, and blue-footed boobies. Experience the diverse ecosystems of the Galapagos Islands while spending your evenings in secure and comfortable hotels. Perfect for those who don’t want to get sea sick!
Your tour will begin on Santa Cruz, the most central island, where you can admire the stunning lava tubes, take in the beautiful views, and walk among giant Galapagos tortoises at the Charles Darwin Research Center. Be sure to say hello to Lonesome George, the last tortoise of his entire species. Your next stop will be Floreana, the island with the richest human history, where you will meet some of its few inhabitants who can tell you about life on the islands.
Finally you will visit Isabela Island, the largest in the archipelago, which was formed by the lava flows of six volcanoes, five of which are still active.

Day 1 : Arrival to Santa Cruz Island & Tortuga Bay Tour

- Upon arrival to the Baltra Airport, a 10 minute ferry ride will take you to Santa Cruz Island where you will start your Galapagos adventure with an Academy Bay Tour at La Loberia. Here you can snorkel with sea lions (optional) and enjoy a boat ride around striking Tortuga Bay.
- As you walk along the white sandy beach, you will have a chance to observe different marine species, like sting rays, sea turtles, and baby reef sharks visible near the surface of the shallow emerald waters. After taking a relaxing dip in the ocean, or sunbathing on the beach, you will start a short hike to a marine iguana nesting site. On the way back you will cross a prickly pear forest, home to more iguana colonies.
- In the evening, you will check in to your comfortable lodge in Puerto Ayora where you will enjoy a savory dinner before heading to bed to rest and prepare for the next day’s exciting adventures.
Day 2 : Santa Cruz Tour & Transfer to Floreana Island

- You will start the day with a visit to Los Gemelos (the twins), two gigantic collapsed lava chambers. This startling sight is an incredible reminder of the forceful power of nature.
- Afterward, you will visit a 600-acre private reserve where you can observe giant Galapagos tortoises freely roaming. Walking through fields, you will have the unique opportunity to mingle with these peaceful and gentle giants. Follow this incredible experience with a walk inside the impressive nearby natural lava tunnels with their 20 ft high ceilings. Stalagmites, stalactites, mineral-colored walls, and the rippled floor formed from lava create an unusual atmosphere within the tunnels.
- After lunch back at your lodge you will set out on a two-hour boat ride to Floreana Island. Your first stop there will be Black Beach, a stunning spot where you can swim, snorkel, or simply rest on the beach.
- In the evening, enjoy a barbecue dinner at a local restaurant, where you will have the chance to taste the savory Galapagueña food and experience first-hand the warm hospitality of the island’s inhabitants who will gladly tell you all about Floreana’s mysteries. Take in a last glimpse of the ocean before retreating to your cozy lodge for the night.
Day 3 : Floreana Island Tour & Departure to Isabela Island

- Your naturalist guide will escort you on an open-air bus through sweeping views of the island and sea to the highlands. From here you can walk up to one of the few fresh water springs in the archipelago Asilo de la Paz (Peace Asylum), and tour the Cueva de los Piratas (Pirates Cove), a former favorite resting place for the scallywags of the sea who carved shelter out of the soft stone. It is also where one of the original settlers, Margret Wittmer, gave birth to a son, Rolf.
- A hike up Cerro Pajas (Bird Hill), where multitudes of Floreana finches have found a home, offers spectacular views of the island and the sea below. Your guide will then take you to a tortoise reserve while entertaining you with legends and mysteries of the Galapagos.
- On your sail to stunning Isabela watch rare species like blue-footed boobies fly the skies before checking into your hotel and embarking on a boat tour of the island. An intriguing walk through a lava field with the backdrop of volcano peaks and emerald waters will lead you to a canal full of white-tipped reef sharks resting in shallow water. Don’t worry, they don’t bite! You have the rest of the afternoon free to snorkel or relax before dinner.
Day 4 : Isabela Island Tour & Transfer to Santa Cruz

- After breakfast, enjoy the white-sand beaches of Long Beach, the most picturesque in all of the Galapagos, often featured on the cover of travel magazines. From here you will walk through the National Park and up the trail to Cerro Orchillo. Your last stop will be the Muro de Las Lagrimas (Wall of Tears), built by prisoners centuries ago and now home to red-throated and striped lava lizards. Sail your way back to Santa Cruz Island and arrive in Puerto Ayora in the early afternoon.
- Check into your hotel for lunch before your guided tour of the amazing world-famous Charles Darwin Research Station home to the rarest tortoise species in the world. Enjoy your last night in the Galapagos Islands with dinner and a quiet evening at your comfortable lodge.
Day 5 : Departure from Santa Cruz

- After breakfast at your lodge, you will be transferred to the Baltra airport for your journey home or to the next destination on your Ecuador vacation. Browse our full range of Galapagos tours and explore additional options for your vacation plans.
