Balneario de Huacachina, Ica

At the Huacachina Lagoon is a fancy, colonial-style hotel in a century-old mansion that was a famous luxury resort hotel back in the 1920s. Though it slipped into neglect for a few decades, it has been given new life because of a restoration over the past few years. It features a pleasant outdoor pool, an interior garden patio, beautiful grounds, and a restaurant veranda overlooking the lagoon. Rooms are elegantly furnished and have parquet floors. Its restaurant, featuring a relaxing deck overlooking the oasis waters, is the best on the lagoon. Although Las Dunas and Ocucaje have more amenities and activities, the Mossone has quite a bit more character and ambience, and the hotel's location on Huacachina Lagoon is an attraction in itself.
