Nazca Hotel: Hotel Majoro

Before the beautiful Hotel Majoro became the charming estate that it is today, the property was a Spanish colonial villa with a rich history. The villa was founded by Don García de Lanasca during the era of the Spanish conquest when the land was divided among the Spaniards viceroys. In the late 1600s, the land was given to the Saint Augustus Convent and the villa was turned into a monastery. Finally, in 1910, it became the private property of the De la Borda family who in 1980 remodeled the convent into the hacienda where Hotel Majoro stands today. The family restored the hotel in 2005, modernizing it while keeping its rich historical legacy intact.

Just off the Pan-American highway, the renovated 4-star Hotel Majoro has kept its colonial charm with colorful bougainvillea hanging from its terracotta rooftops and long arbor walkways lined with fragrant, flowering trees.
