Description
Every possible effort has been taken to provide comfort without compromising the pristine surrounding environment. In both its construction and day-to-day management, Yarapa River Lodge uses earth-friendly resources and concepts. These methods include solar powering, composting, and a comprehensive waste management system. Built with local materials and traditional designs, this attractive lodge presents an appealing balance of rustic yet comfortable accommodations. All the furniture has been handcrafted by local artisans, and roofs and walkways are thatch-covered, providing a natural cooling system from the tropical heat. All living areas are discreetly screened to provide maximum comfort and peace of mind. “The accommodations are the closest to a 5-star hotel you will find in the Amazon..." raved the LA Times in 2004.
While at the lodge you will be venture out on numerous excursions, accompanied by excellent local guides that are knowledgeable and ready to go the extra mile to make your vacation in the Peruvian Amazon a memorable experience.
The lodge’s dining room is a spacious area with high ceilings and fully screened in walls, completely protecting guests from insects. Meals are served buffet style and offer vegetarian options. Dishes incorporate international favorites, but also include Peruvian specialties such as plantains, aji de gallina, and lomo saltado.
Room Amenities
The lodge offers 12 private rooms with a shared bath, or 8 private bungalows with bath included. Both of these spacious rooms are furnished in a simple, rustic style. Electricity is produced through environmentally-friendly solar powering that is available both day and night.
