The Hacienda Concepcion is the 5th and newest Inkaterra lodge in the Peru Amazon Basin. It is set on the banks of the Madre de Dios River. This rainforest accommodation is intended to be a more economical option for the budget-conscious traveler while still providing responsible tourism opportunities.

The lodge is set within more than 2,000 acres just next to the gorgeous Tambopata National Reserve and within walking distance of the famed Lake Sandoval, home to countless exotic wildlife species including the endangered giant river otter. Land and water excursions, all of which are guided by professional and experienced guides, are available for adventurous guests to gain glimpses of the diverse nature environment and learn about the region’s rich history. Excursions are all based on themes of investigation, conservation, training, environmental education, and ecotourism, and vary by difficulty and length. Private guides, private transportation, and tours in languages beyond Spanish and English are available upon request.

The Hacienda Concepcion’s buffet breakfast is a nutritious and practical way of starting your adventurous days. The fresh and delicious ingredients are local and prepared daily. Buffet lunch and dinner options provide welcome national and international fares after a long day of learning and discovery. There is even a complementary tea time service to freshen you up before or after afternoon excursions.

When you need a drink, head to the bar/lounge, which offers a wide variety of snacks, pisco drinks, and organic wines. There is even a complementary pisco sour happy hour between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Room Amenities

The lodge comprises 15 rooms all beautifully built and decorated in the rich indigenous Ese-Eja style. Guestrooms are broken down into 8 rooms and 7 cabañas,  each with either 2 twin beds or one king size bed outfitted with luscious Peruvian cotton sheets, hypoallergenic pillows and comforters, cotton bathrobes, bathrooms with hot rain showers, and complementary toiletries. Even in this basic natural environment, each room also includes one reading light per bed, an electrical outlet, and ceiling fan. The more spacious cabañas include a comfortable and relaxing sitting area with a hammock.
