Dear Abby and Peru For Less,
Thank you so much for an incredible trip to Peru. There was someone to meet us everywhere we went and everyone was perfectly on time. We definitely plan to come back someday and we would highly recommend Peru For Less to anybody planning on making the trip!
Thanks again!| :: RESOURCES :: |

Dear Frommer’s Peru,
I purchased your Peru Manual in preParatyon for a trip I only had one month to put together. We have just returned from our trip and I am writing to tell you how helpful it was. You reminded me to check the Government site to check for immunizations, as we did go to the Rain Forest. Your comments about how the Peruvians check an American Dollar for the slightest little tear, was SO true and helpful. I ‘devoured’ your book.
I especially wanted to give you feed back on the “Peru for Less,” company I found under your “Recommended Escorted Tour Operators” section in your book. We found them to be WONDERFUL! I had been e-mail dialoging with several tour companies. We travel as a family and have a 7-year-old daughter. Companies such as GAP don’t allow children under 12 on their tours; they do have one “Family” tour to Peru, but it was booked clear through December. That was not an option for us, as it would put us into Peru’s rainy season and was past our daughter’s summer vacation anyway and we were not willing to take her out of school for the trip. Both “Peru for Less” and GAP were able to create individual itineraries for us; since with GAP, we couldn’t travel before December and take our daughter, and “Peru for Less” didn’t have an itinerary that went to only the places we wanted to go. I gave them the information of what we wanted to see and ‘Voila,’ I got itineraries from them listing cost etc. Both companies were friendly, however, I found “Peru for Less,” to be very personable and responsive to any questions AND they were, as you said LESS, (cheaper.)
I was a bit apprehensive about traveling to a non-English speaking country, with a child, and without the ‘security’ of being in a group tour. They responded to my every question, even about storing luggage in Hotels, Security, etc. They were able to modify and adjust my itinerary if I saw something I didn’t want or didn’t work for us. That was all before the trip took place. Frankly, during the trip, I was anticipating some pretty “cheap” accommodations, just because they were “Less.” However, my whole family was always impressed with the Hotels they put us in: we always felt safe and secure, they were comfortable, clean, friendly, excellent breakfasts and always near or right in the heart of the places we wanted to visit!
They did what they said they were going to do. They were at every airport to pick us up, no matter how late we arrived. All the transfers were made without a problem. Their people were friendly and accessible. I would travel with them with out question and highly recommend them to others who are a little adventurous (i.e. who can step out of the security of a group tour.) We were our own “Group Tour.” We felt like “Royalty” while in their care.
Thank you Frommer’s, for having them in your book!
Sincerely,
Donna
