Introduction to Paracas
Travelers who make it to the Southern Peruvian coast would be shamed to skip the Paracas Bay, home to one of the largest concentrations of marine birds in the world. Named after the Paracas sandstorm winds, this bay is protected within the Paracas National Reserve, which covers a total of 335,000 hectares on land and sea. Bird watchers come from all over to see the a variety of species that inhabit the bay, including fowl such as pelicans and flamingos, and varied marine life, including whales, sea lions, condors, dolphins and an incredible number more. The bay is also an ideal location to escape from bustling city life and enjoy a day at the beach or have a picnic on the shores of this reserve that holds many natural wonders.
Climate
Paracas enjoys a very warm and pleasantly dry climate throughout the year. The average temperature is about 24°C (75°F).
