Photo of the Week: Amazon Entertainment
In 2011, photographer Paul Vallejos traveled to the northern region of Peru and chanced upon these young children playing on the banks of the Amazon. This river snakes across fragile jungle ecosystems from Brazil to Peru and is important to the livelihood of many local communities. Judging from the grins of these kids, the River also offers endless entertainment, including awesome mud-fights.
Unfortunately, environmental hazards from the outside world are threatening the pristine nature and bio-diversity of the Amazon region.
