In the late 1990’s this once abandoned port in Buenos Aires, Argentina made the transition from decay and degradation to a center of wealth and innovation.

For newcomers, Puerto Madero – the waterfront in Buenos Aires – is sparkly and shiny and new, but for long-time residents, memories of abandoned buildings and degraded land-tracks aren’t all that distant. An urban renewal project that has attracted the attention of both national and foreign investments, Puerto Madero is now a thriving cultural center complete with luxury high-rises, state of the art cinemas, private universities, theaters, and fancy restaurants boasting 5-star international cuisine.
