Ancient and almost surreal, this enormous whale shark was photographed by scuba divers in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. These incredible fish – that’s right, not mammals- are notoriously docile and friendly toward divers.

The best time to visit these gentle giants in the Galapagos are from June to November.  Suit up in your scuba gear and venture to Darwin Island where a diverse marine life thrives in the remote northern region of the Galapagos.
