Photo of the Week: Peeking Through
This week, we are inspired by Chris Ford’s trekking adventure through the Argentinian side of Patagonia. In this photo, Chris captures the beauty and splendor of this untouched natural sanctuary as the famous Fitzroy Peak slices into the crisp blue skies and dream-like clouds.
Fitzroy peak is part of the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares and is most easily accessible from the small mountain outpost of El Chalten. This little town is often referred to as “The Trekking Capital of the World,” and for good reason. With such close proximity to the park, it is the perfect home-base during your excursions through the tranquil Patagonia paradise.
To compliment the breath-taking mountain views, the park is also home of some of the world’s most unique flora, fauna, ice fields and glaciers.
Katy is no stranger to the life of an international traveler. After graduate school, Kathleen worked in California in the legal field, but later realized that life was calling her in a different direction. After a short time in Peru, she fell in love with the culture, the people, the food, and the way of life. Now Kathleen calls Lima her “home away from home,” although she frequently visits the warm, sunny northern Peru to see friends and surf.
