Photo of the Week: Sharing Smiles

Sometimes sharing smiles with new people is more memorable than visiting famous landmarks.
by Britt Fracolli

This photo reminds us that sometimes sharing smiles with new people is more memorable than visiting famous landmarks. Ana Castañeda Cano captured this intimate photograph of a group of endearing children during a trip to Peru’s Apurímac region in 2009.

Not surprisingly, Ana’s photograph received international recognition and awards, such as special mention in the 2011 Humanity Photo Awards (PHA), and finished first in the Walter Benjamin Photo Contest.

Here are some additional photos that we’ve been sharing this month.
