Rio de Janeiro is a city that has a little bit of everything: great weather, friendly people, and marvelous attractions. The beautiful Avenida Atlantica is a perfect example of Rio’s dynamism. On one side its white beach and blue sea, on the other hotels that bring to life the city’s remarkable lure.

Besides its people, the sun and beach are what make Rio de Janeiro one of the most attractive places on earth. During the day, life in the city revolves around the beaches, most notably the famed Ipanema beach found just a short walk down Avenida Atlantica.

Given it’s more than 400 years of history, Rio has evolved into an amazingly modern city The best urban attractions are located in close proximity to each other and the city center. But if it’s history that one seeks, there are amazing churches and museums that help present the best of this vibrant culture.

Visitors should arrive in Rio with high expectations. Those expectations are definitely surpassed by what is to be found in this amazing city. For these reasons and more, we’ve chosen this photo of Rio de Janeiro as the Photo of the Week.
