Deep in the Peruvian Amazon lies the city of Iquitos, your starting point for a voyage of discovery on the tranquil and mystical waters of the World’s most famous river. And what better way to do it than on a luxury river cruise boat? You will disembark regularly for jungle walks and tours of native settlements. Then make your way back to the boat to watch the plant and animal life float by from the comfort of your deck chair.

The huge 19,000 square kilometer Manu National Park has successive tiers of vegetation rising from 150 to 4,200 m above sea-level. The tropical forest in the lower tiers is home to an unrivalled variety of animal and plant species. Some 850 species of birds have been identified and rare species such as the giant otter and the giant armadillo also find refuge there. Jaguars are often sighted in the park.
