Ica and Nazca

Upon your arrival in Ica, you will be transferred to your comfortable hotel for a day of sun and sand-filled leisure time.

In the morning you will be transferred to Paracas Bay where you will go on a short boat trip to the Ballesta Islands, where your boat will be surrounded by sea lions. You may wish to have lunch in the Oasis town of Huacachina before taking a bus to Nazca in the afternoon.

Fly over the Nazca lines and see the enormous figures in the sand - the spider, the monkey, the bird. You'll return to Lima in the late afternoon where you can relax, dine, or dance the night away in this cosmopolitan city. You can also choose to go onto Arequipa to continue another of our tours.

In the barren desert, just 19 miles south of Nazca lies an ancient burial ground where thousands of graves have been found. In the Chauchilla Cemetery, twelve tombs have been exposed showing skeletal remains of bodies buried with garments, jewelry and pottery. A guide will take you on a tour of this fascinating site where ancient bones and mummies lie in the open.
