Scholarship Program - Dojo Iska
We’ve partnered with Dojo Iska to offer scholarships to children who cannot afford their training. Karate teaches more than self-defense—it builds discipline, responsibility, punctuality, self-esteem, and perseverance—values we also share in our work with travelers.
In karate, discipline is essential. It teaches students to stay focused, follow instructions, and maintain self-control. They learn to overcome obstacles and develop a strong work ethic.
It builds trust, encourages humility, and helps students take responsibility for their actions. Honesty creates a respectful and supportive environment where real growth can happen.
Students learn the value of showing up consistently, working hard, and staying motivated even when things get tough. This sense of commitment strengthens their perseverance and personal determination.
Arriving on time shows respect for the dojo, the sensei, and fellow students. Punctuality helps build responsibility and reliability—qualities that matter both in training and in everyday life.
We provide a safe, well-equipped space where children can attend Karate classes consistently.
We fully sponsor karate training—including uniforms and fees—for kids who can't afford it.
We identify promising students and fund their advanced training to help them grow.
We cover travel and participation costs so talented students can compete abroad and represent Peru.
This initiative is part of our long-term commitment to creating a meaningful impact where we operate. Because just like travel, true growth starts with opportunity.

Our goal is to empower each student to achieve success not only in sports but in all aspects of life, fostering exemplary citizens and leaders who inspire their community.
When I was a child, I lived in a very humble and dangerous area of Lima, Peru. Opportunities were scarce, so when I saw a small sign one day advertising karate classes sponsored by an American NGO, I knew I had to give it a try. With the money I earned washing cars, I paid for my first classes until I was given a scholarship. Thanks to karate, I started competing and slowly built a different path for myself.
Today, my dream is to give other children the same opportunity that karate gave me. More than just a sport, it’s a way of life that teaches discipline, perseverance, and resilience. It helps them believe in themselves and build a future with more possibilities.
Over the years, Iska's instructors and students have earned recognition and medals in international competitions. These achievements reflect the dojo's high standards and deep commitment to excellence. Each success is a result of dedication, teamwork, and the lifelong values instilled on and off the mat.
