That was the most unique experience I’ve ever had. A tip for future Refugio Travelers, they conduct a separate night walk to study moths/night insects. It doesn’t sound super exciting, but you get to take an almost private walk with a resident biologist and then you get to collect moths. If you discover a new species, they will name it after you. It’s not well advertised, but if you attend all the biology lectures they’ll tell you about it. We really enjoyed doing that on our last night.
