• Start the day early and begin your journey by driving into the Sacred Valley and towards the high mountain pass at Abra Malaga, before descending through the puna and into the high jungle.
• Along the way you will stop at Huamanmarca, an archeological site that is home to an important ritual site or Usnu. You will pass through Santa Maria, before arriving at Huancacalle, where you will begin the trek. Here you will meet the porters and cooks who will accompany you on this epic Peru trek from Vilcabamba to Machu Picchu.
• You will have lunch and get to know your trekking team before setting out. Your next stop will be at the Vilcabamba Archeological Park, where you will enjoy a guided tour of the Rosaspata – Vitcos sector. Here you will see the famous Ñusta Hispana and the White Rock, which is believed to have been Inca oracle.
• By nightfall you will have arrived at your first campsite at Casapata, where you will relax and enjoy a delicious evening meal.
